APZONE Alert: Massive ‘Aliens vs. Predator’ Cast Reunion Hitting ‘Horrors of Sci-Fi’ This Month!
Hey Xenomorph and Yautja fans,
Fresh off hanging out with his fellow cast-mates and Colonial Marines at San Diego Comic-Con, the hive mind has spoken. Carl Toop is officially confirmed to appear live at the event!
Known to generations of sci-fi fans as a primary, towering Xenomorph Warrior in James Cameron’s 1986 masterwork Aliens, Toop was the man inside the suit bringing Stan Winston‘s legendary, terrifying creature designs to life. This is your rare opportunity to meet a foundational piece of cinema history face-to-face.
If you are anywhere near Texas, clear your calendar. The ultimate clash of the titans is happening live, and the apfzone has some incredible news straight from the hive.
Our very own Carl Toop—the legendary British dancer and suit actor who physically brought the terrifying Alien Warrior to life in James Cameron’s 1986 masterpiece Aliens—personally reached out to confirm he will be anchoring a massive franchise reunion at the upcoming Horrors of Sci-Fi convention!
The two-day event takes place on August 22 & 23 from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at the lower level of Wonderland of the Americas in San Antonio, Texas.
The Ultimate AVP Guest Lineup
Carl Toop won’t be navigating the infected zone alone. The convention is bringing out a heavy-hitting roster of icons from both sides of the Alien and Predator universes for autographs, photo ops, and meet-and-greets:
- Carl Toop (Alien Warrior): The man behind the beast who gave the Xenomorph its hauntingly fluid, predatory movement in Aliens (including the unforgettable flooded-sublevel scene with Newt)!
- Bill Duke (Sgt. Mac Eliot): The legendary powerhouse from the original 1987 Predator. Get ready to ask him all about shaving his face without shaving cream and hunting the demon in the jungle.
- Richard Chaves (Jorge “Poncho” Ramirez): The explosive-weapons specialist from the original Predator military squad. Come pay your respects to one of the toughest commandos to ever wear the green beret.
- R. David Smith (Battle Damaged Predator): Straight out of the urban jungle of 1990’s Predator 2. Smith portrayed the iconic, resilient hunter who loses a limb during the intense city showdown with Danny Glover.
What Else to Expect
Beyond the stellar celebrity lineup, organizers are hosting a massive Kings of Horror market featuring over 75 independent vendors, local artists, collectible dealers, and vintage finds. There will also be official event merchandise and a Sci-Fi Costume Contest running on both Saturday and Sunday.
You can secure your spot, grab autograph fast passes, or view VIP packages directly on the official Kings of Horror Texas website.
