There’s Something Strange in the neighborhood next week. 👻🚫
Ghostbusters Day is a yearly celebration honoring the iconic 1984 film “Ghostbusters“. First launched in 2014 to mark the movie’s 30th anniversary, it has since evolved into a cherished tradition that brings fans together from around the world.
The event happens outside of FDNY Ladder 8 in Tribeca, which is the HQ for the ghostbusting crew in the original 1984 film. It is a real-life (working) NYC firehouse.
In recent years, the Ghostbusters Day event has grown to include many guest appearances, musical artists, Ghostbusters Cars, consumer product launches, merchandise releases, patch trading, charity auctions, and more. Most fans come dressed up, and it’s such a fun scene!
Confirmed for the 2026 year:
👻Appearances: Joe Cirillo (played the NYPD captain in the 1984 film) will be in attendance
👻Live Music: The Alessi Brothers will perform (musical artists from the original Ghostbusters soundtrack with the hit “Savin’ The Day”) and others.
👻For the first time – the event will include food trucks and restrooms! And more to still be announced!
WHERE: 📍14 North Moore Street. Event happens in the street outside the firehouse.
WHEN: ⏰ Ghostbusters Day is Saturday June 6th. Event starts at 12:00. No end time listed (typically ends around 4pm).
PRICE: 🎟 Free! The fireman sell amazing shirts, sweatshirts & many other souvenirs with their FDNY Ghostbuster Ladder 8 logo, which in turn help support the firehouse.
GOOD TO KNOW: 📕CASH ONLY for all merchandise purchases. Expect heavy crowds, and many amazing costumes.
