Secure the Perimeter: A Tribute to Inkblot and the Ultimate Xeno Lore
Every hunter needs a starting point. As we establish this new digital hunting ground for Alien and Predator fans, we are launching our first transmission with a tribute to a critical piece of our history: our deployment to the Inkblot Comic Festival in Manchester for the drop of Inkblot Anthology Vol. 1: Alien launched in October 2025
Our team was embedded on the festival floor to back the creators behind this project. We managed to extract two pristine physical copies signed by the creative hive mind itself. With only 500 copies spawned worldwide, these books are ultimate collector trophies. They sit securely in our vault, acting as the foundation for this new site.
Analyzing the Target: The Anatomy of the Anthology
For over forty years, the Xenomorph has been the perfect organism—the ultimate prey and the ultimate nightmare. While mainstream comic runs often suffer from corporate Weyland-Yutani intervention, Inkblot Publications stripped away the bureaucracy to deliver raw, unfiltered biomechanical horror.
The strategy was simple: give five elite indie artists and writers full creative freedom over the Alien mythos. The result is an acid-dripping collection that explores the darkest corners of space. It seamlessly merges diverse visual aesthetics—from sharp, kinetic manga paneling to gritty, ink-heavy traditional comic layouts. It is a masterpiece created by fans who know exactly what makes the universe tick.
Flashback: The Manchester Drop Zone
The energy at the Manchester event felt like stepping onto a colony under siege. The Inkblot Comic Festival has always been a vital nexus for independent talent, but the hype surrounding this specific drop took over the entire sector. Fans lined up to secure their pre-orders, talk deep lore, and get their graphic novels marked by the artists.
What makes this anthology a permanent fixture on our radar is its sheer unpredictability. The indie freedom allowed the creators to take narrative risks you will never see in massive studio releases. It honors the claustrophobic dread of dark corridors, the firepower of the Colonial Marines, and the terrifying elegance of the star beast, all while pushing the boundaries of sequential storytelling.
The Hunt Continues on Our New Site
Though that physical festival launch is in the rearview mirror, the legacy of the anthology lives on. The remaining supply was unlocked for global acquisition through Meraki Comics, and the Inkblot crew continues to champion independent talent across the UK scene.
We are building this site with that exact same independent, uncompromising spirit. Our signed copies stand as a testament to our ongoing mission to track, document, and celebrate the best of the Alien and Predator universes.
